Swim School Levels

Learn to Swim (3 years old +)

Our new GenSwim School structure is divided into four levels: Starfish, Seahorse , Dolphin and Shark. Each level offers tailored classes to suit the ability of your child, from Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.

Starfish

Starfish Beginner offers first time swimmers a chance to gain water familiarisation and confidence in the pool environment by engaging in fun activities (20 minute class).

Starfish Intermediate students are able to extend their fundamental skills by working on kicking on front and back, treading water and floating (30 minute class).

Starfish Advanced is our introduction level to freestyle and backstroke, as well as learning deep water safety and survival techniques (30 minute class).

Seahorse

Seahorse Beginner builds on students’ bilateral freestyle and backstroke with the introduction to breaststroke kick and dives (30 minute classes).

Seahorse Intermediate works on increasing distance for freestyle and backstroke and further development on breaststroke and dolphin kick (30 minute classes).

Seahorse Advanced increases strength and fitness by doing a longer class and learning how to read and understand sets and use of the clock (40 minute classes)

Dolphin

Dolphin is a GenSwim pre-squad that provides young swimmers with one-hour classes of comprehensive training. They learn refined competitive strokes, advanced techniques, and crucial swimming habits to prepare them for higher competitive squads. This solid foundation allows students to be confident and skilled swimmers, ready to excel in the world of competitive swimming with GenSwim.

Shark

Shark offers a squad-like training environment and introduction to competitive swimming. Swimmers refine strokes, technique, and race strategies. Progressing from Shark to our newly designed GenSquad ensures a seamless continuation of their swimming toward excellence in competitive swimming.

Our Instructors

All of our instructors are Austswim accredited to ensure that we can cater for your needs. We pride ourselves on our friendly and caring nature as well as our passion for swimming and coaching our students to success. We have purposefully created small class sizes to ensure you or your child feel confident in the water.

We have a number of instructors who are also qualified to teach swimmers with disabilities, infants and competitive strokes. The majority of our instructors are also lifeguards qualified to ensure optimal safety at all times.
